Minor Demolition Tips

If you plan on upgrading a room in your home, perhaps a bath or kitchen and you want to do the demolition yourself, here are a couple helpful tips:
1.) Before you demo, make sure you turn off all water and electric. Turn off the water main valve and the circuit breakers to the off position in your electrical panel.
2.) Be meticulous with the demo. I recommend not going wild like a caveman taking things out. Do it in a tidy manor. I say this because even though you have the electric and water off, you don't
know what can be in a wall or floor, and whatever it may be, you will probably want to keep any damage to a minimum.
3.) Order a dumpster for easy debris removal. And clean up thoroughly after each demo session.
4.) Before you turn the water or electric back on, examine all the pipes and wires you may have come in contact with during demo, and MAKE SURE THERE IS NO DAMAGE. if there is, do not turn the water or electric back on until you have a plumber or electrician fix the damage. This is for safety purposes and mitigating any potential issues to your home.
Hopefully this helps if you plan on doing some minor demo.
